Hi I have two vehicles with Aviva who were not interested in my (non motoring ) conviction and just quoted me as normal. The bill for both cars came to a little over £500.

Hi

Do you know if they do camper van insurance. It's a professional conversion. Having both motors really does kill the bank balance so would love to find a company for next time that includes both in its policy

Hi sorry no I dont, but I would recommend ringing them. They were OK to deal with, I declared my conviction and they wern`t interested which was nice to hear.

Thanks for the info I have went with highway insurance but will give them a call once my car insurance runs out to see what kind of deal they can do for me Smile

So much for high way. I explained to them insurance company I had a conviction and that I'm appealing it the guy said that's ok they will re look at it after the appeal. I got the papers to sign and noticed it said I had no convictions so I called them and the gentleman said I told them I didn't have convictions. So I'm back to the drawing board looking for camper van insurance if anyone can recommend a company

Did you try any on the "non-motoring convictions" list? If they aren't interested in non-motoring convictions, and they offer camper van insurance. I see that Aviva has a "specialist partner" offering camper van insurance, so maybe that would work out. Others on the list might be the same, so it has to be worth the effort, and if you can get both vehicles on one policy, so much the better.

As Chris Stacey said: Although its not formally part of the sentence that is handed down in court, the criminal record that someone comes away with effectively becomes a second sentence, which can have a long-lasting, if not lifelong, impact.

Hi. This is my first post and I'm finding it hard to navigate through the forum on my phone I apologise if I've put this topic in the wrong area. I have a beach of bail conviction which iam intending on appealing but in the mean time I've been finding it hard to get camper van insurance. Can someone point me in the right direction. I've just been quoted £400 with a company but it's usually £200 approx for insurance
Any help is appreciated thank you

Hi. Unlock has a list of motor insurers who aren't interested in non-motoring convictions. You can find it on their website here. Failing that, they also have a list of insurance brokers who can arrange cover for people affected by a criminal record. You can find that list here. You can probably shop around on the list to get the best price/cover.

Hi thank you for your information. I've tried some on the list and it seems to be only car insurance. One did quote me for van insurance but wanted £1400 ouch lol. I'll have another hunt around

I don't have any links with them, but I've heard that Broker2U will try their best to find cover, whatever the circumstances.

I ended up going with advanced insurance brokers who got me insurance with highway incase anyone else is looking. It ended up costing £400 but that's me insured all the same
