Someone in the Government  has just discovered the cure for the EU exodus of workers. 

Desperation means creative thinking. 

What concerns me is the reference to "consultations with our stakeholders". I assume they mean the Daily Mail, The Daily Express, The Sun.... Even The Times pitched it as having criminal records wiped, despite the MoJ making it clear that standard and enhanced DBS checks will still be there to protect those who really need protection.

So at last there is some movement to at least address rehabilitation periods. It's only a start and requires a public consultation first - the sample set used for that will be very interesting, given the attitude of the average person in the street towards offenders!

I suspect the justice secretary will probably change once there is a new PM, so won't bee surprised to see a reverse turn in the future...
