Hi I,m new to the forum and i,m looking for some advice regarding my crb. I,m 47 yrs old and i was convicted of a "Burglary and Theft Non Dwelling " charge when i was 17 in 1987 I received a fine of £50. which i,m very embarrased with. I applied for a job as a maintenance man in a care home in 2011 and found out on the CRB check the convictions were still valid . I explained the situation and said that i,m a very different person today than i was then and luckily was given the job. I have since moved on and have seen a new job in a Care Home as a maintenance man and would like to apply but feel i,m wasting my time due to my conviction. I have read a small article stating some offences will be filtered from CRB check. I phoned Nacro for advice and the lady i spoke to asked for reference numbers included on my form and then stated mine will be valid for life which was a big disapointment for me! so i typed in the reference numbers on the web and they come back as a straight burglary conviction does anyone have any advice as to whether there is a difference as to Non Dwelling burglary and a straight Burglary charge with regards to the filtering process. I await and thank you for any replies. Regards Rich
