A 28-day limit on pre-charge bail comes into force today, bringing to an end the previous system which often saw suspected criminals languishing under a cloud of suspicion for months or even years. News in The Independent paper today
About time, kept me on bail for years.

Great news. The uncertainty involved if you're on bail for any length of time can sometimes be worst part of the whole process. A 28-day limit seems a great move forward.
