I'm corresponding with a prisoner in Scotland who is approaching the halfway point of a nine year sentence. According to the Scottish Sentencing Council's guide, around now the Parole Board will be assessing if he is suitable for release into the community on licence. Can he expect some communication from the Board before their decision? Will he be expected to meet the Board?

Hi airlane

you will find that most of the people on here are based in England and Wales where the rules for parole are different. You might find it of use to contact SACRO who are based in Scotland who should be able to help. There number is 01316247269 and www.sarco.org.uk

hope it helps
