I have a little bit of free time this morning and was just reading some stuff on the BBC News website and came across this, which I thought was a very interesting read and some of you here may enjoy: Criminal justice system is an 'old boys' network', says solicitor - BBC NewsSo this article specifically references a lack of BAME representation, which clearly, the statistics back. But also what is interesting is that (although not in this article) there seems to be more being made lately (especially from the Probation Service) about recruiting people with "lived experience"... I for one am interested to see how the first major "failure" under this system will be dealt with, and if it's a project that'll stop quickly after that or if there'll be some dedication and patience shown.
