Hey folks,

Not sure what I'm looking for either, maybe just a bit or moral support or to vent but woke up this morning (on my birthday no less) to the front door of my flat being covered in some kind of sauce. I live in a top floor flat and nobody else was affected.

For reference for those that don't know - I was convicted on an images offence back in 2020 and have since been off the register and spent since 2023 and trying to move on with my life.

Despite managing to get Google to remove links about me my gut feeling is it's someone in my building block has found out about my past somehow and thought this big-brained move was a winner. I might be jumping the gun but I'd think it would be reasonably likely to assume given the evidence as nobody else would be able to get access to the building that late at night without a key and the fact it was only my door that was hit.

Anyway, just wanted a wee moan. I've reported it to the police so we'll see what happens, likely nothing. Just wild I get hassle years AFTER it's all done haha.

One thing you could do to try and protect yourself is get and fit one of those doorbell cameras. My neighbour across the landing has one and it's reassuring to know that if anything happens, he will probably have video footage the police can get.

Aye, I've got a camera up now.

Been chatting to my neighbour about it (obviously not divulging my history!) and I might be over-reacting. Seemingly another neighbour was hearing a commotion in the stairwell last night and the flat below me (empty) now has some hold in the door.

So it very well COULD be some wee fannies were doing something and me turning on my hallway light spooked them and they legged it, who knows.

Try not to worry about it too much, it is probably unlikely it is connected to your history and just some random thing that happens to all of us sometimes.

It is easy to over think these things sometimes and I have been guilty of over reacting at times. When you think about it more rationally it is just something that could happen to anyone.

A camera will be a deterrent though and hopefully it is just a neighbour argument and nothing more.

I really don't believe most neighbours go searching for people on the internet to find out things about them. As most won't even know your full name it would be hard to find details anyway.

Yeah, I'm kind of relaxing a bit more about it now. Certainly not a neighbour argument as I rarely chat to my neighbours but I am on good terms with them.

The more I think about it the more I think it was just a one-off wee group of bams or something. I mean, I've been here about 10 months now nearly so why would they wait until NOW to do something if they did know about my past? Seems a bit odd.

Obviously still keeping vigilant but I'm coming down from the anxiety of it now.
